The treatment
About Microsuction Earwax Removal
Microsuction removes earwax using gentle suction under direct vision. Nothing is flushed into the ear and no water is used, which is the main reason it has largely replaced syringing: the ear stays dry and the practitioner can see exactly what is being removed as it comes out.
It is a same-day fix. Blocked, muffled hearing that has been building for weeks is generally resolved inside the appointment.
Both ears are treated for the £45. It takes half an hour.
What happens at your appointment
- Your ears are examined to see what is there before anything is done.
- The suction is used under direct vision to lift the wax out.
- The second ear is treated the same way.
- Your ears are checked again at the end so you can see the difference.

FAQs
Microsuction Earwax Removal,
your questions answered
How much is earwax removal in Wirral?
£45 at Laser Whites in Eastham, and that covers both ears.
Is microsuction better than syringing?
It is the method most practitioners have moved to. No water is used, so the ear stays dry, and the wax is removed under direct vision rather than flushed out blind.
Does it hurt?
No. It is noisy, because the suction is close to your eardrum, but it is not painful.
How long does it take?
Half an hour for both ears. We block out forty minutes.
Should I use ear drops first?
Often it helps, particularly if the wax is hard. Ask Daisy when you book and she will tell you what she would like you to do.
How often will I need it?
People who block up regularly tend to come around every three months, which is the interval we rebook at. Plenty of people only ever need it once.
