About Radio Frequency Facial
Radio frequency delivers energy that heats the dermis, the living layer beneath the surface, while leaving the surface itself cool and intact. Collagen contracts when heated, which gives an immediate tightening, and the heat also triggers new collagen production over the following weeks.
That two-stage effect is why it is described as both a lifting and a firming treatment. Nothing breaks the skin, there is no downtime, and you can go straight back to your day afterwards.
It suits mild laxity and softening of the jaw and cheek line better than deep folds, which need a different approach.
What happens at your appointment
- Your skin is cleansed and a conductive gel applied.
- The handpiece is moved continuously over each area, building warmth gradually.
- The temperature is held in the working range for a set time per section.
- The gel is removed and finishing products applied.

Before your appointment
- Arrive with clean skin where possible.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before injectable treatments.
- Avoid taking aspirin or ibuprofen for 24–48 hours beforehand unless prescribed by your GP.
- Stay well hydrated.
- Let us know about any medical conditions, medications or recent procedures.
- Please arrive on time, as late arrivals may need to be rescheduled.

Who is not suitable for treatment
Some treatments may not be suitable if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have an active skin infection, cold sore or open wound in the treatment area.
- Have certain medical conditions.
- Are taking medication that may affect healing or increase bleeding.
- Have recently had surgery in the treatment area.
- Have severe allergies to treatment ingredients.

Does a radio frequency facial hurt?
No. It is warm rather than painful. Most people describe it as a hot stone massage on the face.

Is there downtime?
None. Skin may look slightly flushed for a short time and then settles. You can wear makeup and go straight back to work.
How many sessions will I need?
There is a tightening effect on the day, but the collagen response builds over a course. We rebook around every four weeks.
Can I have it if I have fillers?
Ask Daisy first. Heat-based treatments and injectables need to be sequenced sensibly, so tell her what you have had and when.
